Aiyman Vassanji
BSc, M.C (C)
Counselling Intern, Master of Counselling Student
Aiyman Vassanji is a counselling intern in the final year of his Master of Counselling program at City University. With a background in education, mental health, and operational leadership, he brings a calm, steady presence to his work. His approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that therapy can help people reconnect with themselves and move toward a more intentional, fulfilling life.
Aiyman works exclusively with adults, with a focus on those who may look like they “have it all together” but feel stuck, burnt out, or disconnected on the inside. Many of his clients struggle with anxiety, people-pleasing, or a nagging sense that something important is missing from their lives.
In session, Aiyman provides a supportive space to slow down, reflect, and explore what’s beneath the surface. He draws on CBT, REBT, and mindfulness-based strategies, grounded in existential and humanistic approaches. His work isn’t about quick fixes, it’s about helping clients make sense of their experiences, reconnect with what truly matters, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Aiyman is an active part of Your Counselling’s Walk-In Program and supports clients through our sliding scale counselling program, making therapy more accessible. He is currently welcoming new clients and has a special interest in helping adults explore identity, purpose, emotional blocks, and the deeper questions of meaning and belonging.
