
Social Work Services Overview
Your Counselling’s Social Work Program is rooted in a commitment to social justice, accessibility, and person-centred support. Our Social Workers work collaboratively with individuals and families to address social, emotional, and systemic barriers to well-being. Through advocacy, case management, and resource navigation, the program promotes equity, safety, and sustainable change across all stages of life.
- In-Person and Virtual Appointments – Flexible service delivery in Alberta, Nova Scotia, and Ontario, including after-hours availability.
- Collaborative Approach – Social Workers work in coordination with internal teams, schools, legal professionals, physicians, and community partners.
- Client-Centred & Confidential – All services are delivered in accordance with professional and ethical standards, with a focus on safety, dignity, and respect.
Available Social Work Services
- SYSTEMS NAVIGATION: Supporting clients in connecting to essential services, including housing, healthcare, income support, education, and community programs.
- CASE MANAGEMENT AND ADVOCACY: Ongoing coordination of care and support across multiple systems, with a focus on helping clients access the tools and services they need to thrive.
- CRISIS SUPPORT & SAFETY PLANNING: Immediate intervention and strategic safety planning for individuals experiencing instability, domestic violence, homelessness, or acute stress.
- FAMILY SUPPORT & RESOURCE PLANNING: Practical support for families navigating parenting challenges, school systems, child welfare involvement, or reunification processes.
- DOCUMENTATION & REPORTS: Preparation of letters of support, housing advocacy reports, psychosocial summaries, or documentation for legal and social service purposes.
- EQUITY-INFORMED, ANTI-OPPRESSIVE PRACTICE: Services are delivered through an inclusive, culturally responsive lens, recognizing the unique lived experiences of marginalized individuals and communities.
Who Are Social Work Services For?
The Social Work Program is designed to support:

Referral Pathways
Referrals are accepted from:
- Physicians, school staff, or case workers
- Legal representatives and child welfare professionals
- Community agencies, shelters, or housing providers
- Clients and family members (self-referral encouraged)
