Kaitlyn takes a holistic approach to health and wellness, supporting individuals to engage in valued life roles and activities. Form her graduate level training in occupational therapy, Kaitlyn uses a client-centred approach to treatment and focuses on finding an individualized approach that fits with your goals. To support clients in creating action plans to better their overall functioning she draws on a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Kaitlyn enjoys helping her clients to problem solve barriers to reaching their goals and engaging in daily activities. She works to support her clients in identifying their strengths and developing and applying practical skills that they can use to achieve their goals.
She has experience working with a range of populations including working with clients on concerns related to anxiety, depression, ADHD, and chronic pain. Kaitlyn is particularly interested in working with clients on concerns related to disordered eating, body image, and recovering from diet culture. Eating disorders and chronic dieting can have a significant impact on our ability to engage in daily activities and live a life that provides meaning and purpose. Kaitlyn brings a Health at Every Size (HAES) approach to her work in this area; she enjoys supporting clients to reconnect with their values in their recovery journey.
Kaitlyn believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is a primary indicator of success in therapy. Because it is so important to have a good fit with your therapist, she offers a free 15 minute phone consultation to determine if you would work well together.
