Brendan is a registered social worker who has been practicing within the field of mental health for over eleven years. He has practiced within the public sector through Alberta Health Services and within the private sector in various capacities as both a therapist and as an adjunct professor within the faculty of clinical social work at the University of Calgary. He has experience working with individuals, working professionals, and job-related-stress, children, and families and strives to help all of his clients engage with life’s many challenges in healthy, productive ways. He enjoys seeing clients explore their goals in life and discovering their own unique, value-driven ways of achieving them.
Brendan uses cognitive-behavioral as well as acceptance and commitment models of therapy, given that these are both research-driven and easily applied to a wide array of issues and illnesses. He has experience with assessment and diagnostic conceptualization and specializes in the treatment of work-related stress, anxiety, depression, and other mood-related issues. Brendan does not work with those under the age of 16.
Brendan recognizes that life can be busy, challenging to schedule and he understands that a therapy session over a lunch break is sometimes the easiest way to commit to therapy. As a way to help minimize the practical stresses associated with this, he is very pleased to offer online therapy as his preferred method of engagement.
